These Terms & Conditions govern your access to and use of the CarZoon website, platform, listings, tools, alerts, communications, dealer memberships, and related marketplace services.

Important Summary

  • CarZoon is a marketplace platform, not the buyer or seller of listed vehicles.
  • Transactions take place between buyers, private sellers, and dealers, not with CarZoon.

1. About Us

CarZoon is operated by CarZoon Automotive Ltd, a company registered in Scotland with company number SC882384. Our registered office is 5 South Charlotte Street, Edinburgh, EH2 4AN, United Kingdom.

In these Terms, “CarZoon”, “we”, “us”, and “our” refer to CarZoon Automotive Ltd. “You” and “your” refer to any user of the platform, including visitors, buyers, private sellers, dealers, advertisers, account holders, and applicants.

2. Our Platform

CarZoon is a UK automotive marketplace that provides digital platform technology to help buyers, sellers, and dealers connect, advertise vehicles, and communicate through the platform.

CarZoon may enable users to:

  • browse vehicle listings;
  • create and manage listings;
  • send and receive enquiries or messages;
  • request test drives;
  • submit trade-in requests;
  • submit price enquiries or offers;
  • save searches and receive alerts;
  • apply for dealer accounts, verification, or memberships; and
  • use related marketplace features and communication tools.

Unless expressly stated otherwise in writing, CarZoon is not the buyer or seller of any vehicle, is not the owner of any vehicle listed on the platform, is not a party to any transaction between users, is not a direct vehicle purchasing service, and is not a lender, finance provider, or credit broker.

CarZoon acts solely as a technology platform for vehicle advertising, communication, and lead generation.

3. Eligibility

You may use CarZoon only if:

  • you are at least 18 years old;
  • you are legally capable of entering into binding arrangements;
  • all information you provide is accurate, complete, and up to date; and
  • your use of the platform complies with these Terms and all applicable laws and regulations.

If you use CarZoon on behalf of a business or organisation, you confirm that you have authority to bind that business or organisation to these Terms.

4. User Accounts

Certain features may require you to create an account.

You are responsible for:

  • keeping your login credentials secure;
  • all activity carried out under your account;
  • keeping your account details accurate and current; and
  • notifying us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access or misuse.

We may suspend, restrict, or terminate any account where we reasonably believe there has been fraud, attempted fraud, misuse of the platform, unlawful or abusive conduct, false or misleading information, or a breach of these Terms.

5. Listings

5.1 General Listing Requirements

If you submit or manage a vehicle listing, you must ensure that:

  • you have the legal right to advertise the vehicle;
  • the listing is truthful, accurate, and not misleading;
  • the price, mileage, condition, description, specifications, and images are materially correct to the best of your knowledge;
  • no material information is omitted that would affect a buyer’s decision; and
  • the listing complies with all applicable laws, regulations, and advertising standards.

5.2 Private Sellers

Private sellers must not present themselves as dealers, traders, or businesses unless they are acting in the course of business.

5.3 Dealers

Dealers are responsible for ensuring that all business details, stock information, pricing, vehicle descriptions, membership information, and customer-facing statements are accurate, lawful, and up to date.

5.4 Listing Review and Moderation

We may review, moderate, reject, edit, suspend, remove, relabel, or request changes to any listing where we reasonably believe that it:

  • is inaccurate, misleading, unlawful, or inappropriate;
  • breaches these Terms;
  • creates legal, regulatory, trust, safety, or reputational risk; or
  • relates to suspicious, prohibited, unsafe, or potentially fraudulent activity.

We are not obliged to publish any listing merely because it has been submitted. Approval by CarZoon does not amount to a guarantee that any listing is lawful, safe, accurate, complete, or free from challenge.

6. Listing Approval, Rejection and Updates

Listings, dealer applications, price updates, account changes, and other submissions may be subject to review before approval or publication.

We may approve, reject, delay, remove, or request changes to any submission where reasonably necessary to protect users, maintain platform standards, or ensure legal and commercial compliance.

7. Enquiries, Messages and Leads

CarZoon may allow users to send and receive listing enquiries, direct messages, price enquiries or offers, test drive requests, trade-in requests, and other lead or contact form submissions.

CarZoon’s role is limited to facilitating communication between users. We do not guarantee that any enquiry will receive a response, that any message will be read or acted upon, that any lead will result in a transaction, or that any transaction will be completed successfully.

All negotiations, decisions, and transactions are carried out solely between the relevant users.

8. Test Drive Requests

Where a user submits a test drive request through CarZoon, that request may be forwarded to the relevant seller or dealer.

Submission of a test drive request does not guarantee acceptance, availability, scheduling, confirmation, or completion of a test drive.

Any test drive is subject to the seller’s or dealer’s own discretion, availability, checks, insurance requirements, and conditions. CarZoon does not arrange, supervise, or conduct test drives and is not a party to any test drive arrangement.

9. Trade-In Requests

CarZoon may allow users to submit trade-in requests or similar vehicle details to dealers through the platform.

A trade-in request is a lead-generation feature only. Submitting a trade-in request does not create a binding agreement, does not guarantee a valuation, does not guarantee an offer, does not guarantee a response, and does not mean that CarZoon will buy the vehicle.

Any offer, response, valuation, or further contact is made solely by the relevant dealer or third party.

10. Price Enquiries and Offers

CarZoon may allow users to submit price enquiries, offers, or other expressions of interest in relation to listed vehicles.

These communications are non-binding unless and until the relevant parties enter into a separate agreement. CarZoon is not responsible for the seriousness of any enquiry or offer, the content or accuracy of any communication, whether any party accepts or responds, or the outcome of any negotiation.

11. Saved Searches and Alerts

CarZoon may provide saved searches, alerts, reminders, and email notifications for convenience.

We do not guarantee that such alerts will always be available, delivered, timely, accurate, or free from technical issues. Users remain responsible for checking listings and monitoring their own activity on the platform.

12. Dealer Accounts, Verification and Memberships

CarZoon may offer dealer applications, dealer verification, verification badges, membership plans, paid dealer packages, promotional placement, founding dealer status, or similar services.

Submission of a dealer application does not guarantee approval. We may approve, reject, suspend, revoke, or review dealer status where reasonably necessary to maintain platform standards, protect the integrity of the marketplace, address trust, safety, fraud, or compliance concerns, or enforce these Terms.

We may request documents or supporting evidence including proof of business identity, company details, registered address, VAT details, proof of stock authority, motor trade documentation, proof of ownership, proof of authority to advertise, or any other information reasonably required for verification, publication, reinstatement, or continued use of dealer features.

Verification badges, labels, trust indicators, featured placement, or promotional designations are granted at CarZoon’s discretion and may be amended, suspended, withdrawn, or reclassified at any time.

13. Payments and Dealer Membership Fees

Where a user purchases a dealer membership, subscription, featured placement, or other paid service:

  • payment must be made in full as required;
  • the purchased features apply only for the relevant plan, term, or activation period;
  • we may amend future pricing, features, package structures, or eligibility requirements at any time;
  • failure to pay may result in suspension, downgrade, expiry, removal of package benefits, or termination of the service; and
  • package terms, billing cycles, renewal rules, and included features may be described separately on the website, at checkout, or during onboarding.

Unless otherwise required by law or expressly agreed by us in writing, dealer membership fees and paid services are non-refundable once activated or commenced.

If a package renews automatically, this will be made clear at the point of sign-up or purchase. If a package does not renew or expires, CarZoon may remove premium exposure, reduce listing visibility, withdraw paid features, or revert the relevant account or listing to the applicable free tier, if any.

Promotional, introductory, beta, launch, founding dealer, or limited-time offers may be amended, withdrawn, restricted, or ended at any time unless expressly confirmed otherwise in writing.

14. No Vehicle Finance by CarZoon

CarZoon does not provide vehicle finance, consumer credit, lending services, or credit broking services.

If finance is advertised, mentioned, or discussed in relation to a vehicle listing, that finance is offered solely by the relevant dealer, lender, broker, or third party and not by CarZoon.

CarZoon is not responsible for any finance quote, application, approval, rejection, agreement, affordability assessment, regulated disclosure, or finance-related dispute.

15. User Responsibilities and Due Diligence

Users are solely responsible for carrying out their own checks and due diligence before buying, selling, part exchanging, reserving, or otherwise dealing with a vehicle.

This includes checking, where relevant, vehicle ownership, identity of the other party, mileage, condition, service history, MOT history, accident or repair history, outstanding finance, registration and documentation, and any warranties or aftersales commitments.

CarZoon does not inspect vehicles and does not guarantee the legality, safety, ownership, quality, roadworthiness, accuracy, or fitness for purpose of any listed vehicle.

16. User Content

If you upload, submit, send, or publish any content on or through CarZoon, including text, images, messages, logos, descriptions, vehicle details, dealership information, or other materials, you confirm that:

  • you own the content or have the right to use it;
  • it does not infringe the rights of any third party;
  • it is not unlawful, offensive, defamatory, false, or misleading; and
  • it complies with these Terms and applicable law.

You grant CarZoon a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, copy, display, publish, distribute, adapt, and use such content for the purposes of operating, promoting, moderating, and improving the platform.

17. Intellectual Property

All intellectual property rights in CarZoon, including our name, branding, logos, layout, content structure, design, graphics, software, and platform features, are owned by or licensed to CarZoon Automotive Ltd.

You may not, without our prior written permission, copy, reproduce, republish, or distribute any part of the platform, scrape or harvest content or data, reverse engineer or interfere with the platform, or use our branding in a way that suggests endorsement or affiliation.

18. Prohibited Use

You must not:

  • use CarZoon for unlawful, fraudulent, deceptive, or harmful purposes;
  • submit false listings, fake enquiries, or false user information;
  • misrepresent yourself as a private seller if you are acting as a dealer or trader;
  • upload malicious code, harmful files, or disruptive content;
  • harass, threaten, or abuse other users;
  • scrape or systematically extract data without permission;
  • circumvent moderation, billing, package rules, or verification procedures; or
  • interfere with the operation, performance, or security of the platform.

19. Privacy and Data Sharing

We process personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable data protection law.

Where you submit an enquiry, trade-in request, test drive request, or other lead form, relevant personal data may be shared with the relevant seller, dealer, or intended recipient to allow them to respond to your request.

By using the platform, you acknowledge that such sharing may be necessary for the service to operate.

20. Third-Party Services and Links

CarZoon may contain links to third-party websites, services, tools, or providers.

We are not responsible for the content, availability, security, terms, privacy practices, products, or services of any third party. Any dealings you have with third parties are solely between you and that third party.

21. Availability of the Platform

We do not guarantee that CarZoon will always be available, uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.

We may suspend, withdraw, amend, update, or restrict access to any part of the platform at any time where reasonably necessary for maintenance, operational, security, legal, or commercial reasons.

22. Limitation of Liability

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any matter that cannot legally be excluded or limited.

Subject to the above, CarZoon shall not be liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, revenue, business, opportunity, or reputation, loss arising from inaccurate listings or user-supplied information, loss arising from failed transactions, missed opportunities, or disputes between users, loss arising from third-party acts, services, offers, or decisions, or loss caused by technical interruptions, delayed alerts, system errors, or platform downtime.

If you use CarZoon as a business user, our total aggregate liability to you for any claim arising out of or in connection with the platform shall not exceed the greater of the total fees paid by you to CarZoon in the 12 months preceding the claim or £500.

Nothing in these Terms affects any statutory rights available to consumers.

24. Suspension and Termination

We may suspend, restrict, or terminate access to CarZoon where we reasonably believe that these Terms have been breached, false or misleading information has been provided, unlawful, abusive, or suspicious activity has occurred, payment is overdue, verification has failed, or suspension is necessary to protect users, the platform, or third parties.

Termination or suspension does not affect any accrued rights or obligations.

25. Consumer Rights

Nothing in these Terms is intended to remove or reduce any rights you may have under applicable consumer law.

26. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time. The most recent version will be published on the website with an updated effective date. Continued use of CarZoon after any update takes effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

27. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms & Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Scotland.

If you are a business user, the courts of Scotland shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms.

If you are a consumer, you may also benefit from any mandatory rights relating to jurisdiction that apply under applicable law.
