Terms of Website Use
Rules for accessing and using the CarZoon website and automotive marketplace.
1. About these terms
These terms apply whenever you visit, browse or use carzoon.co.uk. Additional terms apply when you create an account, advertise, buy services, arrange a test drive or use another marketplace feature. Relevant additional terms include our Buyer and User Marketplace Terms, Private Seller Terms, Dealer Terms, Acceptable Use Policy and Test Drive Safety Terms. If there is a conflict, the service-specific terms take priority for that service.
2. Access and eligibility
You must be at least 18 and legally able to enter a binding agreement to create an account, advertise a vehicle or buy a service. You are responsible for ensuring that your use is lawful in your location. Access is provided on a temporary basis and may be changed or withdrawn.
3. Accounts and security
Provide accurate, current information, keep login details confidential and tell us promptly about suspected unauthorised access. You are responsible for activity through your account unless caused by our breach. We may verify identity, authority, trader status, vehicle details or payment information.
4. CarZoon's marketplace role
Listings are supplied by private sellers, dealers or data providers. Users decide whether to contact one another and whether to enter a transaction. Independently check the seller, vehicle, history, condition, price, finance, insurance, tax and documents. CarZoon does not guarantee that a listing is accurate, that a user is genuine, or that a transaction will complete.
A dealer acts in the course of business and owes buyers statutory duties which cannot be excluded. A private seller must not present themselves as a consumer if acting for business purposes.
5. Listings, reviews and user content
Content must be genuine, accurate, lawful, current and not misleading. Prices must include unavoidable charges and must not conceal mandatory fees. Do not submit fake reviews, duplicate listings, stolen images, unsafe vehicles, unlawful finance promotions or content that infringes another person's rights. By submitting content, you grant CarZoon a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, reproduce, format, moderate and display it for operating and promoting the service. You retain ownership.
6. Acceptable use
Do not scrape, probe, reverse engineer, overload or interfere with the service; bypass security; harvest personal data; impersonate others; send spam; manipulate rankings; or use the platform for fraud, money laundering, harassment or other unlawful conduct. Our Acceptable Use Policy forms part of these terms.
7. Paid services
Prices, duration and included features are shown before purchase. Consumer prices include VAT where applicable. We do not charge automatically unless you expressly choose a recurring service and receive clear renewal information. Cancellation and refund rights are described in the Refund and Cancellation Policy and the applicable seller or dealer terms.
8. Intellectual property
The CarZoon name, branding, website design, software and original content are owned by or licensed to CarZoon. You may view and use the site for personal or authorised business marketplace purposes. You may not copy, resell or commercially exploit it without written permission, except where law permits.
9. Availability and changes
We aim to provide a secure and useful service but do not promise uninterrupted or error-free availability. We may maintain, change or discontinue features. Save information you need and use current independent records for a vehicle transaction.
10. Liability
Nothing excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or your statutory consumer rights. Subject to that, CarZoon is not responsible for a user's vehicle, conduct, statements or transaction, or for indirect or unforeseeable loss. Business users' total claims connected with a paid service are limited to fees paid for that service in the previous 12 months, except where the applicable Dealer Terms state a different lawful limit.
11. Third-party services
Links, vehicle-data services, payment providers, finance firms and other third parties operate under their own terms and privacy notices. A link is not an endorsement. Finance promotions must be made or approved by an appropriately authorised person unless an exemption applies.
12. Personal data and cookies
Our Privacy Policy explains how we use personal data. Our Cookie Policy explains cookies and consent controls. Non-essential cookies must remain disabled until you choose them.
13. Moderation and suspension
We may investigate, remove or restrict content; warn users; limit features; suspend or close accounts; preserve evidence; and report matters to relevant authorities where reasonably necessary for safety, compliance, fraud prevention or enforcement. We will act proportionately and provide reasons and a review route where appropriate and lawful.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms for legal, security, operational or service changes. The current version and effective date will appear here. Material changes affecting registered users or paid services will be notified reasonably in advance where practicable.
15. Governing law and complaints
These terms are governed by Scots law. Consumers may also benefit from mandatory protections and bring proceedings in the courts available to them under applicable law. Business disputes are subject to the Scottish courts. To complain, email support@carzoon.co.uk and read our Complaints Procedure.
