CarZoon Dealer Terms and Conditions

These terms govern dealer accounts, vehicle advertising, subscriptions, customer enquiries and the Founding Dealer Partner programme on the CarZoon UK automotive marketplace.

Platform operator: CarZoon Automotive Ltd

Company number: SC882384

Effective date: 24 July 2026

Dealer contact: dealers@carzoon.co.uk

Founding Dealer Partner launch offer — registration closes 31 August 2026

Register a dealer account at carzoon.co.uk/account/ no later than 23:59:59 UK time on 31 August 2026. Every dealer whose account is registered during the Launch Period and is subsequently approved by CarZoon will receive the Founding Dealer Partner badge. The three-month Free Period begins when the dealer account is registered.

Eligibility and continued use of the badge are subject to section 9. This launch notice may be removed after the registration deadline; section 9 will continue to apply to qualifying dealers.

Key commercial terms: A qualifying dealer receives three calendar months' free access starting when its dealer account is registered. The account does not convert automatically to a paid plan. When the free period ends, public adverts are paused until the dealer actively selects a paid plan. Every dealer that registers by the end of the Launch Period on 31 August 2026 will receive the Founding Dealer Partner badge once approved, subject to these terms.

1. About these terms

These Dealer Terms and Conditions apply when a motor trader, dealership, vehicle retailer or other business user registers for, accesses or uses a dealer account or dealer service on carzoon.co.uk.

These terms apply together with our Terms of Website Use, Acceptable Use Policy, Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy and any plan description, order form or feature-specific terms accepted by the Dealer. If there is a conflict concerning a dealer service, these Dealer Terms take priority unless a signed order form expressly states otherwise.

2. The parties and CarZoon's role

These terms form a business-to-business agreement between:

  • CarZoon Automotive Ltd, a private limited company registered in Scotland under company number SC882384, whose registered office is 5 South Charlotte Street, Edinburgh, Scotland, EH2 4AN ("CarZoon", "we", "us" or "our"); and
  • the motor trader, dealership, company, partnership or sole trader named in the dealer-account registration ("Dealer", "you" or "your").

CarZoon provides an advertising and enquiry marketplace. Unless we agree otherwise in writing, CarZoon does not own, inspect, buy or sell the Dealer's vehicles; act as the Dealer's agent; set the Dealer's prices; negotiate sales; hold deposits; provide finance, insurance or warranties; or become a party to a transaction between the Dealer and a customer.

3. Definitions

  • Account means the Dealer's CarZoon dealer account, dashboard, profile and associated access credentials.
  • Advert means a vehicle listing or related promotional content submitted for display through CarZoon.
  • Customer means a visitor, prospective buyer or other person who views an Advert or contacts the Dealer through CarZoon.
  • Free Period means the three-calendar-month period described in section 7.
  • Launch Period means the period beginning when CarZoon first makes dealer-account registration publicly available and ending at 23:59:59 UK time on 31 August 2026.
  • Plan means a free or paid dealer package made available by CarZoon with the features and limits displayed when selected.
  • Services means CarZoon's dealer-account, advertising, profile, enquiry, dashboard and related marketplace services.

4. Agreement and authority

The agreement begins when the Dealer successfully submits a dealer-account registration and accepts these terms. The individual registering confirms that they:

  • are at least 18 years old;
  • are acting wholly or mainly for business purposes;
  • have authority to bind the Dealer to this agreement; and
  • have provided complete and accurate information about the Dealer and themselves.

If the individual does not have authority, they must not register or use a Dealer Account. CarZoon may require further written confirmation of authority at any time.

5. Eligibility and verification

The Dealer must be a genuine motor trader or automotive business operating lawfully in the United Kingdom. We may request information reasonably needed to verify identity, trading status, address, company details, beneficial ownership, website, stock, authority, FCA status or other relevant business information.

The Dealer must promptly tell us if its legal name, trading name, address, ownership, contact details, regulatory status or authority changes.

Registration does not guarantee approval. We may approve, reject, limit or request more information about an application where reasonably necessary to protect CarZoon, customers or other users. The Free Period begins at registration even while verification is pending and is not restarted by approval.

6. Dealer Account and security

The Dealer must:

  • keep login credentials confidential and use secure passwords;
  • restrict Account access to authorised staff and remove access promptly when a staff member leaves or changes role;
  • remain responsible for activity carried out through its Account, except to the extent caused by CarZoon's breach;
  • notify support@carzoon.co.uk promptly of suspected unauthorised access or a security incident; and
  • not sell, transfer, share or provide the Account to another dealership without CarZoon's written approval.

Unless CarZoon approves otherwise, each Dealer must maintain only one primary Dealer Account for the same legal business, with authorised staff access managed through available Account features.

7. Three-month Free Period

Each Dealer receives a Free Period of three calendar months. It starts at the exact time the Dealer successfully registers its dealer account at carzoon.co.uk/account/. For example, registration at 3:00 pm on 24 July ends at 3:00 pm on 24 October. Where the corresponding date does not exist, it ends on the final day of that month.

The Free Period is attached to the Dealer, not each user, branch or replacement Account. Creating another Account, changing staff, completing verification or uploading the first Advert does not restart it. A period of suspension or inactivity does not pause or extend it unless CarZoon confirms an extension in writing.

No subscription fee is charged for the Free Period. At expiry:

  • the Account is placed in Plan Selection Required status and is not automatically moved to a paid Plan;
  • CarZoon will not charge the Dealer without an active Plan selection;
  • public Adverts and paid dealer features will be paused;
  • the Dealer may retain limited dashboard access to review its Account and select a Plan; and
  • eligible Adverts may be reactivated after the Dealer selects a paid Plan and completes any required payment.

CarZoon may send expiry reminders, but the Dealer remains responsible for monitoring the Free Period end date displayed in its Account.

8. Paid Plans, billing and cancellation

After the Free Period, the Dealer may actively select an available paid Plan. CarZoon's intended standard live-Advert limits are:

Plan Maximum live Adverts Price and features
Starter Up to 10 As displayed when the Dealer selects the Plan
Standard Up to 50 As displayed when the Dealer selects the Plan
Pro Up to 100 As displayed when the Dealer selects the Plan

Plan features, prices, billing intervals and any usage limits will be clearly displayed before the Dealer confirms its selection. Prices exclude VAT unless expressly stated otherwise.

A paid Plan starts only after the Dealer takes an affirmative action to select it and provides a valid payment method where required. Unless the order screen states otherwise, paid Plans are billed monthly in advance and renew monthly until cancelled. This automatic renewal applies only after the Dealer has actively selected a paid Plan; it does not apply to the Free Period.

The Dealer authorises CarZoon or its payment provider to collect the fees shown at selection on each renewal date. The Dealer must keep billing details accurate. We may pause Plan features following a failed or overdue payment.

The Dealer may cancel a paid Plan through the dashboard, where available, or by contacting dealers@carzoon.co.uk. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid billing period. Fees for a billing period already started are not normally refundable, except where required by law or where CarZoon agrees a refund following a material service failure.

We may change future Plan prices or materially change included features by giving at least 30 days' notice. The Dealer may cancel before the change takes effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the new price or feature set.

9. Founding Dealer Partner badge

Every Dealer whose account is successfully registered during the Launch Period and is subsequently approved by CarZoon will receive the Founding Dealer Partner badge. Eligibility is based on the original successful registration timestamp, even if verification is completed after the Launch Period.

The badge:

  • may remain for the lifetime of the qualifying dealership's continuous relationship with CarZoon while it remains compliant;
  • is personal to the approved Dealer and cannot be sold, transferred, assigned or used by another business;
  • is a platform-status marker and is not a guarantee, warranty or endorsement of any vehicle, statement, service or transaction; and
  • does not remove or reduce the Dealer's legal responsibilities.

CarZoon may suspend or permanently remove the badge for a material breach of these terms, fraud, misleading activity, badge misuse, serious or repeated substantiated complaints, failure to complete checks, prolonged inactivity, Account transfer, business closure or termination of the Dealer relationship.

The badge has no cash value. Badge removal does not create a right to compensation, refund or continued access to CarZoon.

10. Dealer obligations and legal compliance

The Dealer must at all times:

  • operate lawfully and comply with all laws, regulations, regulatory rules and advertising codes relevant to its business, vehicles and customers;
  • clearly identify itself as a motor trader and provide customers with its correct legal and trading details;
  • comply with applicable consumer-protection law, including the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the unfair-commercial-practices provisions of the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024;
  • comply with the CAP Code and ensure advertising is legal, decent, honest, truthful and not misleading;
  • comply with applicable data-protection, electronic-marketing and privacy law;
  • maintain all licences, registrations, insurance, permissions and regulatory approvals required for its activity;
  • respond professionally to genuine Customer enquiries and complaints;
  • not discriminate unlawfully or engage in aggressive, abusive, coercive, fraudulent or unsafe conduct; and
  • co-operate reasonably with CarZoon investigations concerning an Advert, complaint, safety issue, suspected fraud or legal requirement.

11. Vehicle advertising standards

The Dealer is solely responsible for every Advert submitted through or on its behalf. It must ensure that:

  • it owns the vehicle or has clear authority from the lawful owner to advertise and sell it;
  • the vehicle exists, is genuinely available and is not already sold;
  • all information is accurate, current, complete and capable of substantiation;
  • price, mileage, registration, age, make, model, derivative, trim, specification, fuel type, transmission, condition and location are stated accurately;
  • material information is not hidden, delayed or presented ambiguously;
  • known accident history, write-off category, import status, outstanding finance, major defects, mileage discrepancy, non-standard modification, ex-rental or other material history is disclosed where required;
  • MOT, service-history, warranty, ownership, emission, ULEZ or tax claims are accurate and not presented as guarantees where they are not;
  • photographs show the actual vehicle, are recent and do not conceal material damage or misrepresent condition;
  • stock or illustrative images are used only where lawful, clearly labelled and not likely to mislead;
  • no duplicate, bait, fake, speculative or unauthorised Advert is submitted; and
  • an Advert is promptly updated, paused or removed when information changes, the vehicle is reserved or the vehicle is no longer available.

Vehicle information supplied by CarZoon or a third-party data source is a starting point only. The Dealer must check it against the actual vehicle and correct any error before publication and throughout the Advert's life.

12. Prices, promotions, finance and regulatory statements

Vehicle prices and promotions

The advertised price must be genuine and must include unavoidable mandatory charges payable by the Customer, unless the law clearly permits separate presentation. Optional products or services must be identified as optional. The Dealer must not use false discounts, unavailable "from" prices, hidden administration fees, misleading savings, fake scarcity or time pressure.

Finance and credit advertising

The Dealer must not upload, communicate or cause CarZoon to display a financial promotion unless the promotion is lawful and the Dealer is authorised, exempt or has obtained approval from an appropriately authorised person as required by the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000 and FCA rules.

Before publishing finance information, the Dealer must provide CarZoon with any requested FCA firm-reference number, status, lender or broker details, approval evidence and required representative example. Finance communications must be fair, clear and not misleading and must include all material information and risk warnings required by law.

A monthly-payment figure must not be presented without the legally required context, which may include deposit, amount of credit, term, number and amount of payments, APR, interest rate, total amount payable, final or balloon payment, mileage limits and relevant fees.

CarZoon may refuse or remove any finance, warranty or regulatory statement until satisfactory evidence is provided. Display by CarZoon does not constitute approval and does not transfer responsibility from the Dealer. CarZoon does not provide or arrange motor finance unless this is expressly agreed under separate written terms.

13. Dealer content and intellectual property

The Dealer retains ownership of lawful content it submits. The Dealer confirms that it has all rights and permissions required for vehicle photographs, videos, logos, descriptions, data, reviews and other content, including permission from any identifiable person.

The Dealer grants CarZoon a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable and sub-licensable licence to host, store, reproduce, resize, crop, format, display, distribute and promote that content for the purpose of operating, securing, improving and marketing the CarZoon marketplace and the Dealer's Adverts. This includes website display, search results, social-media previews and CarZoon promotional material.

The licence ends when the content is deleted from our active systems, except to the extent content remains in normal backups, was lawfully shared before deletion, is required for legal or evidential reasons, or has been converted into anonymous data.

The Dealer must not copy, scrape, reverse engineer or commercially exploit CarZoon's software, data, branding, layouts or other intellectual property except as expressly allowed in writing.

14. Customer enquiries and personal data

CarZoon may collect and forward a Customer's submitted contact and enquiry information to the relevant Dealer. In relation to its own handling of that information, the Dealer normally acts as an independent controller and is responsible for complying with the UK GDPR, Data Protection Act 2018 and Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations.

The Dealer must:

  • use enquiry data only to respond to and manage the specific vehicle or service enquiry, unless another lawful basis applies;
  • not add a Customer to marketing lists or send unrelated marketing without any consent or other lawful permission required;
  • provide its own privacy information where required and respect data subject rights and objections;
  • restrict access to authorised staff and use appropriate security measures;
  • keep the information accurate and no longer than necessary—normally no more than 12 months for an unsuccessful enquiry unless a documented legal or business reason requires longer retention;
  • not sell, disclose or repurpose enquiry information for an unrelated purpose; and
  • promptly notify CarZoon of a personal-data breach affecting information received through CarZoon where the incident may affect CarZoon or its users.

If CarZoon processes personal data solely on the Dealer's documented instructions for an additional service, the parties will enter any processor terms required by law.

15. Vehicle sales, deposits, viewings and test drives

The Dealer and Customer arrange and enter any sale, deposit, reservation, part-exchange, viewing, delivery, warranty, finance or test drive directly. CarZoon is not a party to that arrangement unless expressly agreed in writing.

The Dealer is responsible for:

  • confirming customer identity and driving entitlement where relevant;
  • maintaining appropriate motor-trade and test-drive insurance;
  • ensuring the vehicle is safe and lawful for any road use;
  • providing legally required pre-contract information and documents;
  • handling deposits, payments, refunds, handover and delivery lawfully;
  • carrying out any required customer due diligence, finance checks or anti-fraud measures; and
  • complying with consumer cancellation, quality, remedy, warranty and complaint obligations.

The Dealer must not ask a Customer to send payment to CarZoon or represent that CarZoon guarantees the vehicle or transaction.

16. Review, moderation, suspension and removal

CarZoon may review an Account, Advert or communication before or after publication. We may request evidence, correct formatting, reject, unpublish, pause, restrict, downgrade or remove content where we reasonably believe it:

  • is inaccurate, incomplete, misleading, unlawful or unsafe;
  • breaches these terms or another applicable CarZoon policy;
  • infringes rights or fails a regulatory or advertising requirement;
  • creates a fraud, security, reputational or customer-harm risk;
  • has generated serious or repeated substantiated complaints; or
  • must be removed following a lawful request or legal obligation.

We may temporarily suspend an Account while investigating. Where appropriate, we will tell the Dealer the reason and allow a reasonable opportunity to provide evidence or correct a remediable issue. We may act immediately where necessary for legal compliance, security, fraud prevention or user safety.

Review or approval by CarZoon does not verify every fact and does not reduce the Dealer's responsibility.

17. Service availability and changes

We aim to provide a reliable service but do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free or continuous access, a particular search ranking, a minimum number of views or enquiries, or any vehicle sale.

We may maintain, update, replace, suspend or discontinue a feature. Where a material change adversely affects a paid Plan, we will give reasonable notice where practicable, except for urgent security, legal or technical changes.

The Dealer should keep its own copy of stock records, vehicle information, photographs and communications. CarZoon is not the Dealer's archive or sole business-record system.

18. Confidentiality

Each party must protect non-public commercial, technical or security information received from the other and use it only for this agreement. This does not apply to information that is public without breach, already lawfully known, independently developed, lawfully received from another source, or required to be disclosed by law.

19. Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

Subject to the paragraph above, CarZoon is not liable for:

  • a vehicle, Advert, Customer, enquiry, sale, payment, deposit, finance, warranty, test drive, delivery or dispute;
  • inaccurate data supplied by the Dealer, a user, a public source or a third-party provider;
  • loss of profit, revenue, anticipated savings, business, goodwill, opportunity or data;
  • indirect or consequential loss; or
  • an event beyond CarZoon's reasonable control, including internet, hosting, payment-provider, API or third-party service failure.

Subject to the exclusions above, CarZoon's total aggregate liability arising from or connected with this agreement in any 12-month period will not exceed the greater of:

  • the fees paid or payable by the Dealer to CarZoon in that period; and
  • £1,000.

The Dealer acknowledges that the Free Period is supplied without a fee and that the limitations in this section are reflected in the nature and price of the Services. Each party remains responsible for taking reasonable steps to limit avoidable loss.

20. Dealer indemnity

The Dealer will indemnify CarZoon against reasonable losses, liabilities, damages, regulatory costs, claims and professional expenses arising from:

  • the Dealer's material breach of these terms;
  • an unlawful, inaccurate or misleading Advert or promotion;
  • a vehicle, sale, test drive, deposit, finance or customer dispute;
  • infringement of another person's intellectual-property or privacy rights;
  • the Dealer's unlawful use of Customer or enquiry information; or
  • fraud, negligence or misconduct by the Dealer or its personnel.

CarZoon will give reasonable notice of a third-party claim, allow the Dealer reasonable involvement in its defence where appropriate, and take reasonable steps to mitigate recoverable loss. The Dealer may not settle a claim in a manner that admits liability for or imposes an obligation on CarZoon without our written consent.

21. Term, cancellation and termination

This agreement starts under section 4 and continues until terminated. The Dealer may close its Account or cancel a paid Plan in accordance with section 8.

CarZoon may suspend or terminate the agreement or Account immediately where reasonably necessary because of:

  • a material or repeated breach;
  • fraud, unlawful activity, serious safety risk or regulatory concern;
  • false registration or verification information;
  • non-payment of an undisputed amount;
  • serious or repeated substantiated Customer complaints;
  • Account transfer, misuse or unauthorised access;
  • business closure, insolvency or loss of required authorisation; or
  • a legal obligation or lawful authority request.

For a remediable non-urgent breach, we will normally provide notice and a reasonable opportunity to correct it before termination.

On termination or expiry:

  • the Dealer's Adverts and profile may be removed or unpublished;
  • access to dealer features may end;
  • outstanding fees remain payable;
  • the Founding Dealer Partner badge may be permanently withdrawn;
  • each party must stop using the other's confidential information except where retention is legally required; and
  • provisions intended to survive—including intellectual property, confidentiality, data protection, liability, indemnity and governing law—continue to apply.

Personal data will be retained or deleted in accordance with the CarZoon Privacy Policy.

22. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms to reflect changes to the Services, Plans, law, regulation, security or business operations. We will give at least 30 days' notice of a material change affecting an active paid Plan, unless an earlier change is reasonably required by law, a regulator, security or fraud prevention.

If the Dealer does not accept a material change, it may cancel before the change takes effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance. A change does not retrospectively remove rights or payment obligations already accrued.

23. General terms

  • Entire agreement: These terms and the documents incorporated into them form the entire agreement concerning the Dealer Services and replace earlier discussions on the same subject.
  • No partnership or agency: Nothing creates a partnership, joint venture, employment, franchise or agency relationship between the parties.
  • Assignment: The Dealer may not transfer this agreement, Account or badge without CarZoon's written consent. CarZoon may transfer the agreement as part of a genuine business sale, restructuring or transfer, provided the Dealer's rights are not materially reduced.
  • Severability: If a provision is invalid or unenforceable, it will be adjusted or removed only to the minimum extent necessary and the remaining provisions will continue.
  • No waiver: Delay in enforcing a right is not a waiver of that right.
  • Third-party rights: A person who is not a party to this agreement has no right to enforce it.
  • Electronic communications: The Dealer agrees that contractual notices, invoices, plan information and service messages may be provided electronically to the Account email address.

24. Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms and any non-contractual dispute or claim arising from them are governed by the laws of Scotland. The parties agree that the courts of Scotland have exclusive jurisdiction, unless applicable law requires otherwise.

25. Contact and notices

Dealer-onboarding, Account and Plan questions should be sent to dealers@carzoon.co.uk. General support and legal notices may be sent to support@carzoon.co.uk.
