This disclaimer explains the sources, limitations and appropriate use of vehicle information displayed through the CarZoon automotive marketplace.
1. Purpose and scope
CarZoon operates an online automotive advertising and enquiry marketplace. We help private sellers and dealers publish vehicle adverts and enable users to browse vehicles and contact advertisers.
Unless CarZoon expressly states otherwise, we do not own, inspect, buy, sell, finance, insure, warrant or deliver vehicles displayed on the platform. We are not normally a party to a vehicle transaction between a buyer and an advertiser.
This disclaimer applies to vehicle identity, specifications, MOT, tax, mileage, emissions, ULEZ status, equipment, valuation, history and other information displayed on carzoon.co.uk.
2. Sources of vehicle data
Vehicle information may be obtained from:
- private sellers and dealers;
- DVLA and DVSA services or records;
- licensed vehicle-data and history providers;
- vehicle manufacturers or specification databases;
- MOT, mileage, valuation, emissions and taxation sources;
- CarZoon account holders, staff and authorised stock feeds; and
- other public or commercial sources considered appropriate.
Information from different sources may use different descriptions, update schedules or matching methods. A registration number match does not guarantee that every displayed specification or feature applies to the particular vehicle being advertised.
3. Accuracy and availability
CarZoon takes reasonable steps to present vehicle information accurately, but vehicle data may be incomplete, delayed, unavailable, incorrectly matched or affected by an error in a source record.
Vehicle information can also change after an advert is created. We do not guarantee that every specification, status, date, figure or record is complete, current or error-free.
A CarZoon review, data match, approval, badge or publication decision is not a mechanical inspection, ownership check, warranty or guarantee of the vehicle or advertiser.
4. Seller-provided information
The private seller or dealer remains responsible for ensuring that their advert is genuine, lawful, accurate, current and complete. This includes the vehicle description, mileage, condition, price, location, history, photographs, videos, equipment, known faults and seller status.
Advertisers must compare automatically supplied information with the actual vehicle and relevant documentation. They must correct or report any material discrepancy before publication and while the advert remains live.

5. MOT, tax and roadworthiness
MOT and tax information may come from government or licensed data sources. Updates, corrections and newly completed tests may not appear immediately.
- A valid MOT does not guarantee that a vehicle is currently safe, roadworthy or free from faults.
- An MOT result records the position at the time of the relevant test.
- Vehicle tax does not transfer to a new keeper.
- A buyer is responsible for taxing and insuring the vehicle before using it where required.
- The seller must disclose known material faults and must not describe an unsafe vehicle as roadworthy.
Users should confirm current MOT and tax information through the relevant official government service.
6. Mileage and vehicle history
Displayed mileage may come from the advertiser, available MOT records or another vehicle-data source. Historical mileage records do not confirm the vehicle’s current odometer reading.
Missing records, odometer replacement, unit conversion, data-entry mistakes or other discrepancies may affect mileage information. Buyers should compare the advert with the odometer, MOT history, service records, invoices and other available evidence.
Unless expressly stated and supported by an appropriate check, CarZoon does not guarantee ownership, accident history, write-off status, outstanding finance, theft status, import status or recorded mileage.
7. Vehicle specifications and equipment
Model, derivative, trim, engine, transmission, fuel type, body type, dimensions, performance, economy, emissions, battery, range, charging, safety and equipment information may vary by production date, market, optional package or later modification.
Equipment shown in a general manufacturer specification may not be fitted to the advertised vehicle. Buyers should inspect the vehicle and ask the advertiser to confirm any feature that is important to their decision.
Images and videos should show the actual vehicle unless clearly identified as illustrative. Screen colours, lighting, editing and device settings may affect how a vehicle appears.
8. ULEZ, clean-air-zone and emissions information
ULEZ, LEZ, clean-air-zone, emissions-standard and related compliance information may depend on data supplied by government, scheme operators, vehicle manufacturers or third-party providers.
Charging areas, standards, exemptions and fees can change. A label shown by CarZoon is not a permanent guarantee that the vehicle will remain compliant with every current or future scheme.
Users should confirm the vehicle’s status directly with the relevant official scheme before entering a charging zone or purchasing a vehicle for that purpose.
9. Valuation and pricing information
Any valuation, market comparison or estimated price displayed by CarZoon is indicative only. It may be based on limited vehicle information, market data and assumptions that do not reflect the vehicle’s exact condition, history, specification, location or current demand.
A valuation is not an offer to purchase, a guaranteed selling price or professional financial advice. The advertiser sets the asking price and the buyer and seller remain responsible for agreeing the transaction.
10. Finance and monthly-payment information
Monthly-payment figures or finance information may be illustrative or supplied by an advertiser or third-party finance provider. Eligibility, deposit, interest rate, APR, term, fees, final payment, mileage limits and total amount payable may differ.
Finance is subject to status, eligibility, affordability checks and the terms of the relevant authorised provider. CarZoon does not provide financial advice unless explicitly stated and appropriately authorised.

11. Checks before buying a vehicle
Before making a payment or completing a purchase, buyers should:
- inspect and test the vehicle where appropriate;
- confirm the registration, VIN and vehicle identity;
- check the seller’s identity and authority to sell;
- review the V5C and remember that it is not proof of ownership;
- check MOT, mileage, service and maintenance records;
- obtain an appropriate vehicle-history or outstanding-finance check;
- confirm known faults, damage, write-off and import status;
- verify important specifications and fitted equipment;
- arrange suitable insurance and ensure the vehicle is roadworthy; and
- use a secure and traceable payment method.
Consider obtaining an independent professional inspection where the vehicle’s condition, identity or history is uncertain.
12. Corrections and reporting discrepancies
If vehicle information appears inaccurate, incomplete or incorrectly matched, do not rely on it without further checks.
Report the issue through the relevant advert-reporting control or email support@carzoon.co.uk. Include the advert URL or reference number and a clear explanation. Do not send unnecessary identity documents or sensitive personal information by ordinary email.
CarZoon may review the information, request evidence, correct the display, contact the advertiser, temporarily hide the advert or refer the issue to the relevant data provider.
13. Responsibility and liability
Vehicle data is provided for general information and to assist initial vehicle searches. It should not replace an inspection, professional advice, official records or checks appropriate to the transaction.
CarZoon is not responsible for an advertiser’s inaccurate or misleading information, or for an error originating from a third-party data source, except to the extent that loss results from CarZoon’s own breach of legal duty, negligence or another responsibility that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Nothing in this disclaimer excludes or restricts statutory consumer rights or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
